Latest entry-level 4K camera from Fuji: Fujifilm X-A7

Fujifilm X-A7 is the latest entry-level Mirrorlyess camera launched by Fujifilm. Fuji X-A7 is the successor to the old Fujifilm X-A5. It will be available from October 24th, 2019 in the USA at a price point of $700(USD) with Fujinon XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS kit lens.

With the kit lens, FujiFilm X-A7 just weighs around 455grams (only 320 grams without lense). This is significantly lighter than any DSLRs or most of the Mirrorless cameras available at this price point.

It comes with an iconic and elegant Fuji retro design, which makes it is quite unique and beautiful at the same time. It comes in a variety of colours options as well.

Fujifilm X-A7 features:

With Fujifilm X-A7 you will get a 2.5mm audio jack but it does come with a 3.5mm adapter inside the box. This might not be an issue for most of the people out there, who are just peeking for a camera to click photographs only. But for those who are looking to buy Fuji X-A7 for video recording or need to attach an external microphone to it, carrying a dongle might prove to be a hassle. As, If you miss the dongle somewhere then it might even end up ruining your day.


There is no built-in viewfinder, 3.5inch articulated flip-out LCD touch screen is the only option which you will get to frame your captures.


Once fully charged, Fujifilm X-A7 can shoot up to 440 images. The battery inside can be easily charged on the go using a power bank as well, which comes really handy when you are having a long day.

When compared with Fujifilm X-A5, X-A7 comes with 8.5 times more phase-detection pixels with improved autofocus and face-detection capabilities. Fuji X-A7 comes with a continuous shooting speed of 6fps. Some other features to mention are the Bright mode (HDR photos), light trail mode, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It can record 4K at 30fps for about 15 minutes and 1080p videos for 30 minutes continuously.


Clearly, Fujifilm X-A7 is a notable update over Fujifilm X-A5, the main difference being the addition of new and improved image sensor. Moreover this the first x-series model from Fujifilm which uses a “vari-angle monitor” which is enough to make any vlogger excited about it.

The X-A7 also comes with a pretty unique feature called “Countdown video mode” in which the user can specify the duration of clips to be filmed for a duration of 15, 30 or 60 seconds. This is basically for those who would like to shoot their Instagram stories or clips on their camera only, obviously for much better quality.


Fujifilm X-A7 comes in four colour variants namely camel, silver, mint green and dark silver.



Shooting with Fujifilm X-A7 is very similar to using a smartphone for clicking your photographs. If you are someone who is looking to step up from mobile photography then this might prove to be the perfect camera for you. With 3.5 inches articulated screen and an audio jack, this camera can also be an attractive deal for those who are interested in vlogging as well.
