For those of you, who haven’t heard about Phase One cameras, Phase one is a Danish company which is specialised in high-end camera photography equipment. It’s headquarter is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since their inception in 1993, they have developed many high-end medium format based camera systems. They have even produced their own Raw processing software named as Capture One.

The main reason why they are not that popular when compared to other household names such as Nikon, Sony or canon is its cost only. According to Phase one, their cameras are definitely for those who really don’t like to make a lot of compromises with the picture quality.

The XT system is priced at 56,990 USD which when converted to Indian rupees, turns out to be a little more than INR 40 lakhs.

  5. It can also be used to create panoramic stitched images at tremendous scale resolution.

There are 3 rockenstock lenses available in the market now to be used with Phase One XT system.

  2. XT HR 32mm f4.0

These lenses offer 24mm shift movement on the X and Y axis, this feature can be used by photographers to correct perspective distortion.

The price of these lenses ranges between 9000 USD to 12000 USD each.

Looking at its specifications and the cost, phase one XT is not a camera which is meant to capture images at a kitty party or some other small function. It’s not that it can, but it doesn’t really make sense to me. 

This camera is basically for professionals who actually want the best quality out of there images or the end clients want them to capture the best quality and most accurately coloured images for their project. This setup can also prove to be a blessing for landscape photographers because of its high scale/resolution images and portable size.
